Todays IDEAS tomorrow's big companies Is it team work or hard work? Some one who can convert an IDEA to business becomes a successful business man. But everyone in this world is not a business man. It is very sad to see some of our successful corporate lacks IDEAS and do not entertain IDEAS from external sources. They started believing that they are bigger and reached in a stage where need of any IDEAS from out side world irrelevent. Some of them fear that once IDEA is taken from someone they have pay them back one day. In our day to day life we can see many people around us who share their IDEAS without expecting anything. Even that kind of IDEAS too have no place in many companies. The day any corporate start thinking that they have sufficient IDEAS they began their journey to forgotten history. A search on Google for “"Unsolicited Idea Submission Policy” will tell you the truth. Guess who is first in the list.. I am not a saint, but I am not greedy. If some one gave 1 billion $ and ask me to do some thing which my conscience does not permit I will not do. Last 32 years money could not change me even in the difficult times or in present situations Contd… Microsoft Webcasts

or Zune is comingThe iPod will have a new competitor in the market from November 2006 from software giant Microsoft with an expected pricing of $229 . It opens WINDOWS of a new market "social" music connectivity. Some of the feature mentioned in a forum dedicated to ZUNE WMA, MP3, AAC,
JPEG,WMV, MPEG-4, H.264 media playback Can you say Apple products are better than Microsoft Products? If Apple is really the brains of the industry--if its products are so much better than Microsoft's or Dell's or IBM's or Hewlett-Packard's--then why is the company so damned small? (Consider that in the last 10 years alone, Apple has been issued 1,300 patents, almost one-and-a- half times as many as Dell and half as many as Microsoft--which earns 145 times as much money.). Apple have only 2% of market share on 180% billion PC market over the world. Conventional wisdom has long answered that Apple is the victim of a single, huge strategic error: the decision in the 1970s not to license its operating system. But that was long ago and far away. “TRUTH IS, SOME OF THE MOST INNOVATIVE INSTITUTIONS IN THE HISTORY OF AMERICAN BUSINESS HAVE BEEN COLOSSAL FAILURES.” It is not the number of patent, it is the number of patent can actually convert into value addition to products that matter. As Microsoft say “People ready” business where your staff are more important than your product. Apple never considered common man. They were in a fool’s paradise. Ipod is succeeded only because there was no competitor for them, If they can have the consistent groth by end of 2008 they survive or else they decline to 2% in ipod market too. Problem with apple is that it is growing on a big tree which is not accessible to common man, in fact you may need a ladder which cost more than apple to pluck the apple. Not All Innovation Is Equal
Microsoft has officially confirmed rumors that they will come out with a digital music player, the Zune Google Check outGoogle Inc. on Thursday will launch a long-awaited service called Google Checkout, which some analysts said could help online merchants boost sales and convince them to commit more advertising money to the Web search leader.
Analysts were mixed on whether the product, initially available only in the United States, puts eBay Inc.'s PayPal online payment system in Google's competitive sights. The new offering, referred to in news and analyst reports as GBuy or Google Wallet, promises online sellers an easy way to add a checkout to their sites and can be used in addition to other options such as PayPal or a merchant's own pay system.
Google said Checkout stores names, shipping and credit card information and eliminates the need for consumers to resubmit that data with each purchase. Google is responsible for processing the credit card payments and keeping data safe. "We think we're making e-commerce a lot more efficient and easier to use," Salar Kamangar, Google's vice president of product management, told Reuters. Google checkout
Google - Free mobile service ProviderTELECOMS companies in Britain are preparing to face a challenge from Google, the internet search engine, which is planning a move into mobile communications. The US firm is to launch a free wireless internet access service in its home town of Mountain View, California, later this month. Despite assurances from Google that it has no current plans "to expand this community service beyond the Bay Area [San Francisco]", industry analysts believe the search giant is preparing to use the growing popularity of wi-fi to enter the mobile communications market outside the US. It intends to take on a new role in becoming an internet service provider using a patchwork of wi-fi hotspots to provide high-speed internet access in public areas. The company also has plans to partner wireless internet service provider EarthLink to offer a similar free internet access service across San Francisco. Adam Walkden, a consultant at analyst firm Visiongain, said: "We believe they are considering offering the service - possibly by partnering other internet service providers, outside the US. The San Francisco rollout will be a testbed. "Google's successful advertising-based business model allows the company to offer services for free. "If it can convert this business model to include local based advertising to wi-fi users, it poses a significant threat to mobile operators." Google's head of special initiatives, Chris Sacca, last week told the American media that its network could be a vehicle for delivering advertising. Google gets ready to launch online spreadsheetsSearch giant Google is preparing to launch an online spreadsheet which will put it into competition with the Microsoft's Excel product.
So far only a beta version of the spreadsheet has been released to an 'invitation-only' audience. The spreadsheet will be free to download, but will require a constant internet connection in order to function. Features include the ability to import and export data from Microsoft Excel, as well as open access and editing for a number of different users. But commentators were less convinced about its value as a business application, or its threat to Microsoft's dominance in the spreadsheet market.
"If I was an enterprise, I would go nowhere near this," Guernsey Research Analyst Chris Le Tocq told San Francisco Chronicle. He said that if the Internet crashes the company has no access to its data. "If I was a small-business person, I would also be extremely wary... The only people who should consider this would be people on a tight budget -- a student, or nonprofit or an educational institution." In a report released by RBC Capital Markets, and quoted on Forbes.com, analyst Robert Breza said that he didn't see Google Spreadsheet as a credible replacement for Excel, going on to say that it was "very unlikely" for any enterprise to run their core spreadsheet requirements on a web-based offering: "We believe it is more likely to spur Microsoft in developing a similar offering."
a force that can cut costs, win customers, and find innovative new business opportunities all over the world.
It’s your people. Are they ready?
Overview Businesses don’t garner insights or make decisions. Businesses don’t close deals, invent new products, or find new efficiencies. People do. Companies excel when they empower their people to drive the business forward. Strategies, organization, motivation, and leadership all set the stage for business success. But to see results, you also have to give your people the right tools, information, and opportunities—because success ultimately comes down to your people. We call a business that fosters a winning environment a “people-ready business.” Software is instrumental to the people-ready business. Software is increasingly how we harness information, the lifeblood of business today. Software enables people to turn data into insight, transform ideas into action, and turn change into opportunity. What is a people-ready business? A people-ready business is a business that knows people are its most important asset. A people-ready business believes that people, more than processes, systems, machines, location, or outside consultants, are the ultimate drivers of business success. A people-ready business invests in, and creates a culture around, a shared value system—an organizational infrastructure that empowers and enables its people to drive the business forward. It gives people the support, resources, and mandate they need to act intuitively, respond decisively, and invent brilliantly. When individuals realize their potential, your company realizes its potential. That realization is what separates what we call a “people-ready” business from an ordinary one. Every business is different, but the outcomes that drive business success remain the same: creating loyal and profitable customer relationships, inventing and enhancing products or services, managing a business in the most efficient way possible, and building high-value connections with partners and suppliers. But it’s not the businesses that do these things. Businesses don’t find customers, streamline operations, close deals, or invent products. People do. · A people-ready business is a "destination workplace." The most talented and successful people and businesses seek opportunities to work at or with this company. · A people-ready business maximizes the satisfaction levels of all its constituents. Customers, employees, and the critical partners and vendors on whom its success depends are all satisfied. A people-ready business is also a balanced organization that does not neglect one vital constituency for another. · A people-ready business tempers its management's "force." A people-ready business balances management oversight and control, teamwork, and the constant improvement and innovation that come from empowered employees who live their lives on the front lines of the company. · A people-ready business is characterized by vision. The ability to see and act on both opportunities and problems is central to a people-ready business. · A people-ready business is focused on insight and action. A people-ready business is characterized by employees who have insight into opportunities and problems, and the ability to act on them. · A people-ready business is marked by speed and flexibility. A people-ready business is as concerned with removing barriers to success as it is to driving success. And a people-ready business is agile and adaptable in a business environment of constant change. · A people-ready business is optimized for performance at the individual level. Individuals have the freedom to focus on adding value to shareholders and customers, rather than being constantly distracted. To know more about this, Visit the master - Microsoft
Google Launches Page Creator Web Publishing ToolAs usual Google is one step ahead of Microsoft, Really unpredictable guys
Google has launched a beta Web publishing tool called Page Creator. A small group of Gmail users were given access to the beta tool to create and publish their own web pages, Google said Thursday. Google designed Page Creator for the web-challenged, meaning it's a simple tool to create and publish Web pages without having to download software or be very knowledgable about web development in order to publish a webpage. Page Creator is available at pages.google.com, though you have to be a Gmail account holder to sign up for the beta web publisher tool.
Anatomy of a Software Development Role: Development LeadThe best way to become a DL is to become a good programmer, one who is constantly evaluating the right ways to create solutions and one who's able to see the patterns at work in the architecture. The title may change from Developer to Development lead or programmer analyst, however, that's not generally the first thing that happens. Generally it's the process of how coding is approached that happens first.

Google on Tuesday confirmed it is testing a new service called Google Base, which could someday offer services that compete with EBay Inc. The Google Base site was up for a short time Tuesday before it was taken down. Some bloggers, however, managed to capture a screenshot. A company spokeswoman confirmed that the Mountain View, Calif.-based, search engine was testing a new service, but offered very few details. "We are testing a new way for content owners to submit their content to Google, which will complement existing methods such as Web crawl and the Google Sitemaps program," she said in an email. Google Sitemaps are tools the search engine offers to Web site operators to help improve their coverage in the search engine's index. In a description on the Google Base site, the company described the service as "Google's database into which you can add all types of content." "We'll host your content and make it searchable online for free," the site said. Among the items listed as examples of what could be submitted were used cars, descriptions of a party planning service and a "database of protein structures."
I have seen a couple of news, saying this may be online service, sales service etc. But no one consider the quantum of data this service going to handle.
If they can manage such a huge data, where it may be residing? My personal opinion is that google is planning to do a test run on their database product. Who knows in future it may be named as G-Base.

Offline for a weekHi All,
I am taking offline for a week. Please bear with my downtime. I am going for an important personal assignment which have nothing to do with the technology. If it is success then I will let all of you know about this. I hope all of your well wishes with me. But if you can guess for what I am going, leave a comment. Let me know how much you know me.
Thank you for visiting my page.

Lifetime Support Policy from OracleCan you imagine software supported for lifetime? Nope may be the answer, But now it is a reality.
Oracle leads the industry with the most comprehensive and flexible support policy, our new Lifetime Support Policy. Simple and predictable, our support policy covers your entire technology stack, from database to middleware to applications—an industry first, only from Oracle… More 2 GB Hard disk space freeThis offer is open only to those with a Gmail email account. The reason for this is due to a little program called GmailFS, or more colloquially as the Gmail Drive Shell extension (say that three times fast...). This neat little tidbit creates a file system in concert with a Gmail account, effectively turning your Gmail mailbox into a network drive of 2 GB+ (as the Gmail team has been adding storage capacity to Gmail accounts (as of this writing, the capacity was at 2.656 GB and counting). I have been testing this program for the last week and found it to work beautifully, but of course, as a network drive, the faster your Internet connection, the faster the response. GmailFS handles files essentially by turning them into attachments and sending them straight into the archived section of your Gmail account, which means that even if your network drive is offline, your files are accessible through Gmail's noted search function, just like any other email. GmailFS can be found at as a free download
This program is a beta. That means if it breaks or if Google decides to stop supporting it, it's nobody's fault. It's neat, but use it just like anything else computer-related: save early, save often, and in more than one place.
